From June 27-28 the IADC organized its yearly World Drilling Conference in Amsterdam, focusing on drilling executives and decision makers to discuss the future of offshore drilling. Rolloos exhibited its newest solutions in CCTV vision, mobile connectivity and data analytics.

During the IADC conference many of the industry stakeholders presented their efforts and views on the future of offshore drilling. In contrast to the last two years, most drilling contractors were more than aware that we all have to adapt the new normal with lower oil prices. Key elements in this are the corporate liquidity, minimizing operational cost and more data driven operations and decisions.

Although these seem to be rather general items, it is all about execution. Ideas and solutions that were discussed are to focus on assets that are within the 'top-100 rank of offshore floaters' and to scrap the rest, centralization and benchmarking of operational data and sharing knowledge and experience within partnerships.
